We’re making great progress with the Linux port of CSpace. Dan has already made a preliminary 0.1 release. And for the more adventurous, I’ve got a darcs repo and tarballs for CSpace 0.2.1 and TrayIcon here, which includes a system tray icon and a few other minor improvements.
As soon as I get to Bangalore, I’ll probably borrow Yathi’s Powerbook iBook for a day and get an OSX port up

CSpace is now public. Here at Tachyon, we’ve been eating our own dogfood for a long long time. Its time all our friends outside Tachyon try it out. Its delicious
On a serious note. I believe that CSpace is a very useful piece of software. These days, everybody talks about security. And then I’ve personally verified that some popular IMs send messages in plain text over the network. Don’t believe me ? Use Ethereal, and check for yourself.
CSpace is not really out to compete with these IMs, since CSpace is more than just an IM (IM is just another applet in the CSpace architecture). CSpace aims to be THE platform for secure real time communications, quite akin to what PGP is for email.
CSpace finally has reached a stage where we consider to to be usable for not just us, the developers but everyone. We’re currenly in the process of optimizing the DHT for better scalability so you’ll probably see update very frequently (CSpace already has an auto-update mechanism in place).
