Came back to my hometown from Bangalore about a week ago. Unfortunately for me, I contracted Chicken Pox in my last few days in Bangalore. I was under the belief that I’d had a bout of chicken pox as a kid and I’d never get it again. Then I call my Mom and ask her if I ever had chicken pox, as a kid, and she said that I never had chicken pox all my life. I realized that I was screwed, immediately went on a course of aciclovir, as a precautionary measure. The infection was easy to fight off, but the sores it left behind are nasty. I’ve got two big scars on my forehead now :( Guess it’ll take a couple of weeks for em to disappear. The net effect of the whole episode is that I’ll have to defer the  Goa plan for another week.

Amazingly, there’re quite a lot of friends who’re suggesting me to get another job. I feel there was no point in quitting my previous job just to join another job. There has to be some way out of this eternal cycle of jobs, and thats what I’m out to figure. And heck, the opportunity cost for taking risks like this is the lowest for me, at the moment, so its now or never :)

On the coding front, I’ve been able to make some good progress. Guess you work the best when you’re working for yourself :) . The plan is to go back to Bangalore in a couple of months (actually ASAP). The cell phone turns out to be a major annoyance, so much so that I just turn it off, at times. People don’t realize how expensive (and easy) it is for you to lose the flow and once lost, it literally takes hours to regain.
